Account Deletion

You can permanently delete your Apex Cricketer account at any time. This page explains how to delete it and what happens to your data when you do.

1. Delete from inside the app (recommended)

The fastest way is from the Apex Cricketer mobile app:

  1. Open the app and sign in to your account.
  2. Go to Profile tab → Settings.
  3. Scroll to Delete Account.
  4. Confirm with the OTP sent to your registered email — this prevents anyone else from deleting your account.

Once confirmed, your account is removed from our servers within seconds.

2. Request deletion by email

If you can't open the app (lost device, forgot password, etc.) you can request deletion by email:

  • Email [email protected] from the address linked to your Apex Cricketer account.
  • Subject line: "Account Deletion Request".
  • Include the registered email address or username so we can locate your account.

We will verify your identity and complete the deletion within 7 business days. You will receive a confirmation email once it's done.

3. What gets deleted

The following personal data is permanently removed:

  • Your name, email, phone number, and date of birth.
  • Your profile picture, batting/bowling style, role, city, and country.
  • Your password (already hashed) and active sessions.
  • FCM device tokens and any saved push-notification preferences.
  • Direct messages and team-chat messages where you are the sender.
  • Posts, comments, likes, and reposts authored by you.
  • Followers / following relationships involving your account.

4. What is anonymized but kept

Some data is anonymized and retained so other players' cricket history stays accurate. Cricket is a multi-player sport — fully erasing your participation would invalidate teammates' and opponents' records.

  • Match scorecards, ball-by-ball data, and team rosters — your participation is shown as "Deleted player" instead of your name.
  • Tournament fixtures and standings — match results stand, your individual stats are detached from your profile.
  • Aggregate counts (matches played, runs scored, wickets taken) that contribute to a team's record.

5. Backups and retention

  • Live database: your personal data is removed within seconds of you confirming deletion.
  • Encrypted backups: your data is purged from our 30-day rolling backups within 30 days of the deletion request.
  • Audit logs (login attempts, security events): retained for up to 90 days for fraud prevention, then permanently purged.

6. After deletion

  • You will no longer be able to log in with these credentials.
  • The same email address can be used to register a fresh account later — but your previous match history will not be restored.
  • If you change your mind within 24 hours, email [email protected] and we'll attempt recovery from the most recent backup. After 24 hours the deletion is permanent.
